Fall 2007 Semester Complete

Categories: graduate school, learning

I finished my first semester of graduate school with a mixture of sadness and relief. It’s definitely been a roller coaster ride for me, both mentally and physically. Throughout the semester, when feeling fatigue and mentally exhausted, I always remember what a second year grad-student, Will Odom told me, “Try not burn out too early (speaking from experience). There’s a long semester and 80% of climbing accidents happen on the way down.”

As I look back these past four months, I learned so much about design - the dynamics of associate instructing a design class, design frameworks and techniques, and making great friends who are as passionate about the same interests. There was so many things I wanted to do but I needed more than 24 hours in a day (ie. Actionscript for high fidelity prototypes, reflective blogging, research projects, and the list goes on…)

It’s time to put down the laptop, and recharge for next semester, which promises to be equally fascinating.
