Graffiti can be used to communicate social and political messages, and serve as a form of personal advertising. During the 1970’s when it emerged in the outer boroughs of New York, graffiti involved the act of drawing pictures or words on subways or buildings using colored spray, and was used as a means to oppose the expanding rich-poor gap, discrimination, and authority. It quickly evolved in cities across the world, and each city saw the development of its unique form. In Frankfurt Germany, Tokyo Japan, Santiago Chile, and other metropolis cities its considered a modern art form or “contemporary art”.
With the progression of technology, spray cans, sketchbooks, and round tip markers are no longer the only instruments for graffiti creation. All you need is a web browser and Graffiti Creator. Graffiti Creator is an online flash application that allow the user to generate their own graffiti styled texts which they later can print or publish. The fonts are created by two grafitti artists, more notably Mr. Wiggles, an original Rock Steady Crew member.
